I don’t think that anyone needs to be told that there are a lot of bad things happening in our world right now. I don’t think that anyone needs to be told that there are a lot of very deceived people alive in our world. I don’t think that anyone needs to be told that our world has become a less hospitable place to live in and is increasingly becoming more inhospitable.
What ultimately is responsible for the manifestation of all of the evil and suffering that we see, is of course, sin. 1 Corinthians 15:21 clearly states that man, though his sin brought death into the world. Death is of course accompanied by suffering and all of the other manifestations associated with it, which ultimately lead to it, both physically and most tragically, spiritually (as in eternally).
Scripture is also clear on just who prompted all of this sin (Satan, of course), and consequently death (Romans 6:23). He is the same person who is ultimately behind it now. He is currently the prince of this world (John 16:11). This verse also tells us that he (Satan) has been judged. Reading further in the New Testament, especially at the end of Revelation, this judgement is described in more detail. In other words, his reign as prince is going to have an end; a permanent end.
What is especially encouraging is that this end could be as little as just over 7 years away, at any given moment. The Rapture of the Church; the catching away; the meeting of Christ in the air, of those who have believed on Jesus, could occur at any moment. I would argue that the Apostle Paul believed that it could have even occurred in his life time (1 Thessalonians chapter 4). There are no events that need to preclude the Rapture of the Church. There are however events that preclude the Second Coming of Christ (which is not the same thing as the Rapture of the Church; perhaps I will post a section on this site comparing/contrasting the 2 here in the near future). Those events are those things that I would argue must occur during the 7 year tribulation, also known as the Time of Jacob’s Trouble. I would argue that the Rapture must precede those events. There are many things that now are in place to set those events of the Time of Jacob’s trouble in motion, that have not been in place at any time in the past. For one, we have the miraculous restoration of the nation of Israel; something clearly present in the Book of Revelation. We also have plans in place for the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple; something clearly mentioned as being in existence in the Book of Revelation. We have technology in place to accommodate the prophecies in Revelation; such as the ability to mark/microchip people and alter their DNA, the whole world being able to watch the events of the 7 Year Tribulation simultaneously, as well as the potential for destruction of the entire human race; we did not have these things at any time in the past, until very recently. I believe that not only could the Rapture of the Church occur at any time, but that it could also be logically argued that it must occur soon.
The recent political events, etc. are arguably setting the stage for a 1 world government, that we also now have the technology necessary to implement. This is another thing that the Bible predicts happening during the 7 Year Tribulation. One could certainly see how someone sharp, charismatic, articulate, and attractive could persuade the majority of the world populous to follow him, considering the current mindset of so many; especially of those would remain here after the Rapture of the Church, and be the reeling and instability following such an even as the Rapture of the Church. The 7 Year Tribulation will begin at the signing of a 7 year peace treaty between the Anti-Christ (son of perdition, man of sin; he has many titles) and the nation of Israel (Daniel 9:27). With all of the chaos occurring as a result of the Rapture, it is likely that this treaty could happen extremely soon after the Rapture, thus very quickly starting the 7 year clock to the Second Coming of Christ; the end of the 7 Year Tribulation; He puts the end to it (Revelation 19).
At His Second Coming, Christ will set up His Kingdom. As King, one of the many things that He will do is bind Satan and throw him into the Abyss for 1,000 years. At the end of that time, he will be turned loose for a little while, but then he will be thrown into the Lake of Fire for eternity (Revelation 20).
Again, what this boils down to, is that any given moment, Satan could be just over 7 years away from the Abyss; in other words, the world could be just over 7 years away from being rid of Satan. However even better, is that the world could be just over 7 years away from having Jesus Christ as its physically visible King; a government that will not be corrupt or corruptible in any way, shape or form.
As believers in Christ; those of us who have received His gift of everlasting life, that He will never take away (Romans 11:29), we have all of this in store for us, guaranteed. If you have never put your trust in Jesus, you can do so right now and also share this wonderful free gift and these wonderful promises. There is nothing you can do to earn this, and it doesn’t matter what you may have done or who you are. Just believe on Jesus and He will save you (Acts 16:31). Just make the decision to trust the fact that Jesus died for your sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried and rose from the dead 3 days later, according to the Scriptures. Please read more of the entries on this website. This website was created mainly for the purpose of spreading this ever so important truth; the Gospel; the good news. I might suggest starting with the article labeled in the menu: “What Must I Do? It isn’t Difficult.” Please also be sure to read “Angles and Aspects of Salvation,” a small e-book that is accessible from many points on this website; I believe you will find it to be helpful.
I will also add that without putting your trust in Jesus, you will be left here to deal with the horrors of the Time of Jacob’s Trouble; the 7 Year Tribulation, after the Rapture. It will be a terrible time to live; the worst time ever, where Satan and his minions basically have free reign, and God pours out His wrath upon the earth. Those of us who have put our trust in Jesus before the Rapture are not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9) and we will be in Heaven with Jesus (1 Thessalonians 4:17), and not here. During the Time of Jacob’s Trouble, it will still be possible to be saved and go to Heaven, but people who become believers in Jesus during that time will suffer greatly for it (everyone will suffer during that time). Trust in Jesus now and avoid all of that.
Please take the time to have an unhurried look around this site. Again, please don't miss the free e-book entitled "Angles and Aspects of Salvation." All material on this site may be freely copied and used to witness to and otherwise minister to others.
God bless.
